DURABLE PACKAGING
WEBSITE

CASE STUDY

Modern, mobile-friendly website redesign enhances usability, engagement, and customer conversions.

Durable Packaging International is a family-owned and operated business established in the early 1940s and headquartered in Wheeling, Illinois. The company manufactures high-quality packaging solutions, catering to a diverse clientele, including food service distributors, retail supermarkets, processors, restaurants, and more.

The Challenge

Durable Packaging is one of our longtime customers, and we built their previous website in 2005. Our normal process is to choose a host we trust like SiteGround and register the domain in the customer’s name. However, when we finished building the site, the client elected to have us provide them with all the files and they found their own hosting solution. We also trained them on how to access and work within the WordPress CMS (content management system).

Later, the team at Durable Packaging asked us to make some edits to the site. The problem was that we didn’t have access to the server, and they couldn’t provide it. The site remained untouched for years. In addition to the edits not being made, updates weren’t being made to WordPress and the database. It got to the point that the site was so far behind on updates that it was littered with errors that made it insecure, and nothing could be done.

At this point, the site desperately needed a new look and updates to modernize it to meet the needs of today’s buyers.

The client wanted us to provide a new, better-looking, mobile-friendly website that would get them back on track. Their objective for the site was for it to be attractive and simple.

They wanted it to provide just enough information to pique visitors’ interest and encourage them to call. This would contribute to the company’s focus on providing a personal level of sales.

Strategy Execution

Our process included meeting with Durable Packaging to identify website styles/themes they liked, decide on a color scheme, and finalize the sitemap. The client provided the content for the site, while the Adventure team designed and developed the site. They also took us up on our offer on SiteGround hosting to prevent similar issues to what they experienced before.

Once we had a plan and content we needed, we went to work to create a new, modern website. Here are the highlights of what we did:

Applied current branding

Added an About Us page featuring the history of the company

Designed and developed the site to provide much better user experience, making it easier for users to locate and learn about products and capabilities

Made the site responsive and completely mobile-friendly

Performed on-page optimization

Provided a Page Builder in the CMS to enable the client to easily edit the site without needing coding knowledge

The Results

The transformation of Durable Packaging’s website was sweeping! Now, they have a great-looking, user-friendly site that will help them accomplish their business goals.

We provided the client with instructions on how to make simple edits to the site within the CMS. Of course, we are always available to help them make bigger changes or assist with anything they aren’t comfortable doing themselves.

Their redesigned site is appealing, secure, and ready to help them sell!
